10.30–11.30am: Q&A with the collector

Learn more about the Walter Cook collection and the exhibition Ki te Toi Hou | Towards Modernism with collector Walter Cook and curator and writer Justine Olsen. This small exhibition celebrates the newly published book, Towards Modernism: The Walter Cook Collection at Te Papa.

1.00–2.00pm: Curators’ introduction, Level 4

Join Te Papa curators for an introductory tour of the exhibitions on Level 4 – featuring artworks by Ralph Hotere, Shona Rapira Davies, Leslie Adkin, Lubaina Himid, and Michael Parekōwhai.

2.00–3.00pm: Curators’ introduction, Level 5

Join Te Papa curators for a tour of two new exhibitions on Level 5 – Maureen Lander: Aho Huna, Aho Whai | Threads of Connection and Kōrero Pūrākau | Telling Stories.

A large artwork filled with clouds of olive green and black paint. Adding to the surreal cloudscape are small, detailed drawings of decapitated birds’ heads, mountains, fantastical creatures and circular hiapo motifs that create small pockets of narrative.
