International visitors

International visitors aged 16 years and older require a museum entry ticket of NZ$35.

Museum entry tickets can be purchased at the ticket desk on Level 2 in the museum, or online. International visitors under 16 years of age are free.

New Zealanders or people living in Aotearoa New Zealand

Entry to the museum remains free for all New Zealanders and people living in Aotearoa New Zealand; you can just enter your museum as usual. Charges will still apply to some paid exhibitions and experiences.

This includes visitors from Cook Islands, Niue, Tokelau, and New Zealanders living overseas. It also includes those living in Aotearoa New Zealand here on a Visa issued by Immigration New Zealand that allows you to study, work, or live in New Zealand.
