Dave Trinder has been teaching taonga puoro for nearly 9 years. He began with workshops at museums and marae and was later invited to attend schools.

Kāhui Manu was established in 2024 by students Dave has taught over the past few years. The group members are aged between 8 and 13 years, including both tama and kotiro.

They have performed at pōwhiri and blessings or openings of buildings in the Taranaki region. Kāhui Manu's objective is to preserve taonga puoro among younger generations, helping them connect with their whakapapa and tīpuna.

Tamariki must be accompanied by a caregiver at all times.
